What are the main differences between battery and DC/mains operated devices?

Devices using DC power supply or connected directly to mains can reapeat Z-Wave signal improving network’s range, battery operated don’t.

Battery operated devices require waking them up if configuration is changed (e.g. parameters or associations), DC/mains operated don’t.

Remember: FIBARO Swipe is treated as battery operated device, even if USB supply is connected.
