Intergration of the Qubino meter with the Fibaro system

Description of the intergration

The intergration of the Qubino meter with the Fibaro system allows for intelligent energy management and monitoring of the energy flow in the home. Thanks to the analysis of the energy flow, you can reduce energy consumption by optimally using energy from the photovoltaic intallation.

Benefits of electricity management:

  • Possibility of setting a billing tariff
  • Reduction of energy costs
  • Analysis of consumption data from individual devices
  • Possibility of saving the expenses spent on the photovoltaic installation and calculating the amount of reimbursement
  • Selective control of devices connected to the Fibaro System in the moment of power overproduction
  • Possibility of building scenes on the basis of data stored in the Energy Panel
  • Reduction of CO2 production

Required tools

To carry out the intergration you will need:

  • Yubii Home / Home Center 3 Lite / Home Center 3 gateway with firmware at least 5.120
  • Qubino 3-Phase Smart Meter
  • Photovoltaic installation

Qubino 3-Phase Smart Meter

Qubino 3-Phase Smart Meter is used for energy measurements in three-phase electrical power network and can be used in residential, industrial and utility applications. The device measures energy directly in 4-wire networks according to the principle of fast sampling of voltage and current signals. It is designed to be mounted on DIN rail. It acts as a Z-Wave signal repeater, thus providing improved network coverage and stability.

The meter allows measurement of:

  • Voltage [V]
  • Current [A]
  • Active power [W]
  • Reactive power [var]
  • Power factor [PF]
  • Energy – Active power accumulated (Import) [kWh]
  • Energy – Active power accumulated (Export) [kWh]
  • Energy – Apparent power accumulated [kVAh]
  • Energy – Reactive power accumulated [kVArh].

Intergration

Adding the Qubino meter to the Z-Wave network

  1. Connect the device to the power supply.
  2. Open the Configuration Interface.
  3. Go to Settings > Devices.
  4. Click
  5. Select Z-Wave device.
  6. Click Start.
  7. Click the S button on the device 3 times.
  8. Once a device has been added, a menu will appear so that all the endpoints of the device can be described. A total of 34 of these appear in 6 channels.

    Description of selected endpoints.

Note: The Endpoints that will be needed for proper integration are shown below. The others can be hidden.

x.1

Active energy meter consumption (import)

x.1.2

Active power consumption (import)

x.1.4

Active energy meter production (export)

x.1.6

Active power production (export)

Energy Panel configuration

After describing the endpoints of the Qubin meter, configure it in the Energy Panel.

  1. Go to Energy Panel settings.
  2. Go to Meter Configuration tab.
  3. Two meter configuration options are available.
    • Total consumption means that there is power/energy flowing through the meter from both the power mains and the energy-producing installation.
The meter measures the balance of energy produced and consumed by the installation. Select the following options:
      • Energy consumption meter: x.1 – Active energy meter consumption (import).
      • Instantaneous power consumption meter: x.1.2 Active power consumption (import).
      • Energy production meter: x.1.4 Active power meter production (export).
      • Instantaneous power production meter: x.1.6 Active power production (export).
    • Consumption from the mains means that only power/energy from the mains flows through the meter.
In this case, the PV installation is connected to an energy meter located outside the building, e.g. it is directly plugged into an energy meter located in the fence of the property excluding the switchgear located in the building.
      Select the following options:
      • Energy consumption meter: x.1 – Active energy meter consumption (import).
      • Instantaneous power consumption meter: x.1.2 Active power consumption (import).
      • Energy production meter: x.1.4 Active power meter production (export).
      • Instantaneous power production meter: x.1.6 Active power production (export).

It is possible to specify two additional options, in the case of inverters from companies:

      • Salaredge
      • Sofasolar
      • Fronius
      • Huawey
      • Hoymiles
      • Solplanet – For this, you will need to download and install the Quick App or set up an additional Qubino meter. Additional options from the Qubino meter that you will be able to use are:
        • Meters for energy production to the mains: x.1.4 Active energy meter production (export)
        • Meters of instantaneous power production to the mains: x.1.6
