[HC2/HCL] Block Scene: Turn on the light when it’s dark and somebody enters the room

Description

Don’t waste energy on lighting up the room nobody’s in. With FIBARO home automation system you can create a scene that will turn on the light for 30 seconds, only if it’s too dark and when the motion is detected.

Requirements

  • PC or Mac,
  • FIBARO Home Center 2 or Home Center Lite,
  • FIBARO Motion Sensor,
  • FIBARO Dimmer 2, Switch 2, or another light controlling module.

 

Result

If the motion is detected and the room is too dark, scene will turn on the light and turn it off after 30 seconds.

Step-by-step guide

 

Creating a scene

    1. Log in to your Home Center through the web browser.

    2. Select Scenes from the top menu.

    3. Click Add scene under the Scenes header located in the sidebar.

    4. Click Add in Add scene using graphic blocks section.

    5. Set the first condition – the level of light. Click the + icon, select Devices and find your Light Sensor.

    6. Change the comparator to < (less than).

    7. Type in the level of light under which the scene will be triggered – our scene will run if it’s under 20 lux so enter 20.

    8. Click the + icon, and select Commands -> And.

    9. Set the second condition – the detection of motion. Click the + icon, select Devices and find your Motion Sensor.

    10. Set the comparator to == (equal).

    11. Expand the list and select a proper device status – Breached.

    12. Click the And block at the bottom and change its value to Then.

    13. Set the device that will take action after triggered conditions. Click the + icon, select Devices and find your Dimmer 2.

    14. Leave the comparator and action unchanged Turn On.

    15. Click the + icon, and select Commands -> And.

    17. Leave the comparator unchanged. Expand the list and select desired device action – Turn Off.

    18. Set a delay time in the red block (30s in our example).

    19. When everything is set, click the Save icon.

    20. Name the scene and assign to the suitable room.

Setting parameter

By default, the Motion Sensor reports light intesity if its value changes by at least 200 lux, it might not be suitable for some cases. Configuration parameter no. 9 of Motion Sensor can be set to make the scene work more reliably.

    1. Log in to your Home Center through the web browser.

    2. Select Devices from the top menu and find light sensor icon of Motion Sensor used in scene.

    3. Go to the device settings by clicking the icon klucz_grey_kolko.

    4. Go to Advanced tab, find parameter 9 and set lower value (e.g. 10 lux).

    5. Click the Save icon.

    6. Wake up the Motion Sensor manually by clicking B-button 3 times or wait for automatical wake up.
